On behalf of the Steambans team I'm proud to present to you all our new Steambans Anti-Cheat for Source (the Half-Life 2 engine) called Detox (SBDTX). The main purpose of this plugin is to provide server admins and players with a better overall protection against cheats and cvar hacks.

What does it do?
Detox provides the following features for version 1.0:
1) A successor to CVAR-X. It will differ in functionality to cvarx where cvarx just reverted and aliased out certain cvars, Detox will have the ability to actually retrieve values for each cvar it checks and kick/ban the offending player for a certain duration based on the exploitability of the cvar.
2) Anti-Wallhack built-in which automatically blocks all kinds of wallhacks known for Source.
3) Anti-Radar hack which makes sure people cannot use radar hacks to see the opposite team.
4) Consistency checks for materials and sounds
5) Auto update feature: one of the very first plugins that is able to automatically update itself with the latest algorithms to recognise the latest cvar- and wall hacks.

What do I need?
SteamBans Detox Anti-Cheat (SBDTX) currently only supports Counter-Strike Source. It has not been tested on any other mods. More mods will be added very soon!

You only need to have Counter-Strike Source running and on top of that Metamod: Source, which is an API manager and interception handler that sits in between the Half-Life 2 Engine (Source) and a subsequent Game Modification (MOD).

Any cvar's I have to set?
We have two cvar's you can change (optional):
detox_wh 0/1: enable anti wallhack (0=off,1=on), default = 1
detox_public 0/1: enable public (0=off,1=on), default = 1

Note: if you set detox_public to 0, detox will use special league values which have stricter cvar values. For public servers we recommend leaving this to 1.

Steambans.com hat nun sein eigenes Anti-Cheat-Plugin für CS:S veröffentlicht, es trägt den Namen Steambans Detox Anti-Cheat (SBDTX).

Hier die Featureliste:

* Cvar-Blocker: Blockt Cvars mit denen man sich Vorteile verschaffen kann.
* Anti-Wallhack: Blockt alle derzeit bekannten Wallhacks für die Source-Engine.
* Anti-Radar-Hack: Verhindert das Cheater, mithilfe eines Hacks, das gegnerische Team auf dem Radar sehen können.
* Consistency-Check: Verhindert das benutzen von Custom-Material wie Texturen und Sounds.
* Auto-Updater.

Ziel ist es, die Spieler besser vor Cheatern zu schützen, der Einsatz von VAC2 ist aber weiterhin empfehlenswert!

Das Plugin läuft derzeit nur serverseitig, so das kein Client-Tool benötigt wird, auf dem Server muss jedoch Metamod:Source installiert sein. Derzeit funktioniert SBDTX nur unter CS:S, die Unterstützung anderer HL2-Mods soll bald hinzukommen.
